Christopher obtained his Masters’ Degree in Social Work at Florida Atlantic University. His areas of interest include substance use disorders, mental health, trauma recovery, and relationships. He’s a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern (RCSWI) in the state of Florida.
His perspective is derived from a trauma-informed, harm reduction lens and he believes that it is vital to promote and empower self-determination for every individual. He utilizes an approach based on interpersonal neurobiology, which encompasses the understanding that human development and functioning are a direct result of the connection between the mind, the body, and relationships. He is person-centered and is aware that individuals are the experts in their own experience and believes that individuals will change when they feel safe enough to do so.
He believes that cultivating and creating a safe, nurturing, and non-judgemental environment is essential to connection and facilitating the therapeutic process. His approach utilizes CBT, motivational interviewing, harm reduction, psychodynamic, and psychoeducation to develop insight and coping skills that will allow an individual navigate internal and external stressors to move towards the life that the individual wants. At this time Christopher is available to residents of Florida.
