Joanna obtained her Masters’ Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rowan University. Joanna has training in using evidence based behavioral practices and empirically supported treatments to best suit an individual’s needs. Her approach focuses on using proven techniques while catering to an individual’s unique situation. The aim is to utilize her background and skills in combination with a supportive atmosphere to help individual’s evoke positive change.
Joanna is bilingual in Spanish and is committed to providing treatment to marginalized individuals who may face a language barrier or limited access to treatment. She has experience working in the private sector providing mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults battling issues surrounding depression, anxiety, OCD, family and couples counseling, and other mental health illnesses/disorders.
Joanna understands that therapy can be a difficult yet rewarding process. Although it can be overwhelming, Joanna will provide a trustworthy, non-judgmental and collaborative environment to help individuals overcome their obstacles. She is committed to helping those she works with and understands the importance of the therapeutic relationship. Joanna will strive to help you work on achieving your goals in a nurturing and caring atmosphere. Her primary treatment modalities include, cognitive behavioral therapies, mindfulness, family-systems, and person-centered approaches to help evoke change.
