 Justin Mendoza, MSW, LCSW, CAADC
Justin Mendoza is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) in Pennsylvania, and is passionate about experiences unique to the LGBTQ+ community. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree at Philadelphia (now Jefferson) University and his Master of Social Work degree at Rutgers University with specialization in their Addiction Counselor Training Program. Additionally, he completed a Health Coaching certificate program at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and developed a private health coaching practice, and volunteered as a Certified Trainer with the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network (GLSEN). Most recently, Justin launched the first substance abuse Intensive Outpatient program at Mazzoni Center as their Lead Therapist and organized a professional training event, presenting on LGBTQ identity development models.

Justin is a trauma-informed clinician and experienced working with clients seeking support with managing substance abuse, anxiety and mood symptoms, exploring sexuality and identity, relationships and family dynamics, and life stage issues. Justin utilizes an eclectic style to meet clients' needs and incorporates techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectic behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and psychodynamic theory. He also supports multiple pathways to substance abuse recovery including harm reduction and abstinence-based approaches. Justin views clients holistically and builds upon their inherent strengths to create a partnership, guiding clients to facilitate change and make progress toward their goals.
